At the 2008 Annual Awards Banquet for the North Carolina Chapter of the Special Libraries Association (NC/SLA), Ann Stringfield of InfoCrofters was honored to receive the Meritorious Achievement Award f
or "notable and enduring contributions" to the NC/SLA Chapter.

NIEHS Library Director Dav Robertson reviewed Ann’s
contributions to the chapter including serving terms as
President (1999-2000), President-Elect, Second Vice
President and Professional Development Chair, Awards
Committee member, South Atlantic Regional Conference (SARC)
Logistics Committee member, Consultation Committee Chair,
Networking Committee Liaison, Local Area Reporter, Employment
Chair, Sara Aull Student Paper Competition Committee member,
and Quarterly Bulletin Business Advertising Manager.

Larry Skladanowski recollected experiences of Ann’s early career during 18 years employment working
with him at the Lorillard Research Center Library in Greensboro, NC.  Larry labels Ann an "idea person", passionate about creating new information products and services within organizations, and continuing contributions to NC/SLA through InfoCrofters sponsorships and participation.

Receiving the NC/SLA Chapter Meritorious Achievement Award, Ann reflected that her most significant achievement was simply recognizing, early-on, the tremendous talent resident within the NC/SLA Chapter, and that active Chapter participation tethers us to successful information leaders.

Speaking with library student groups, Ann emphasizes that "information entropy happens!” bringing innumerable opportunities for entreprenurial information professionals.  Enjoy additional photos from the NC/SLA 2008 Awards Banquet at Castle McCulloch in Jamestown, NC.

Many congratulations to Jamal Cromity of Thompson Dialog who received NC/SLA's Horizon Award the same evening!  Gracious thanks also to NC/SLA 2008 banquet sponsors:  Dunn & Bradstreet, Ebsco, Iconitel, Infocrofters, and Inmagic!
